Anna Clart

Assistant Director

Anna is a German-Canadian director and playwright based in London.

Her love for theatre came through acting: From 2011 onwards, Anna performed in various groups of Berlin’s independent scene (Intergogue, Café Tambour, JTW Spandau) and trained in techniques such as LABAN, Meisner and stage combat. She is co-founder of federspiel, an emerging theatre company rooted in collaborative writing that playfully transforms existing sources into sharp and pulsating work.

She lived in London and Cambridge for her graduate studies in politics and philosophy (MA and MPhil), then returned to the UK in 2018 to pursue an MA Directing at LAMDA. After graduating with distinction, she was long-listed for the Young Vic's Genesis Award and the JMK Award 2020. She has since directed and written for venues such as Theatre503, the Pushkin House and the Bread & Roses.
